Target Audience
This course has been developed for new users of XANALYS Link
Explorer. The course may also be useful to existing users
of Link Explorer who wish to refresh or extend their knowledge.

The course comprises the following units:
1. Introduction to XANALYS Link Explorer
2. Data Entry
3. Using Queries
4. Charts and Reports
5. Working with Styles
6. Analysis
7. Printing
Pre-requisites
The course has been developed for those who are already familiar
with Windows 95/98/2000 or NT.
Duration
The course is scheduled to cover three days. It is classroom
based, with practical activities throughout. A practical case
study provides the main focus for day three of the course.
Objectives
This course guides new users of XANALYS Link Explorer through
the functionality and use of this powerful analysis tool and
explains the importance of a methodical and logical approach
especially when entering data.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the use of XANALYS Link Explorer workfiles and
templates.
- Create and assign security levels to a particular database
or workfile.
- Use different methods to enter data; Data Entry Forms,
import from a text file, and import using the 'Service'
function.
- Create and apply various queries to your data using different
approaches, and different levels of constraint.
- Select the appropriate chart type for use with your query,
and customize the chart display.
- Employ styles effectively; change the default style for
a chart, edit the style for an object or class, add annotation
and link boxes.
- Use and apply Analysis features to your data; Explore,
Find Links, Trace, Select and Dynamic Styles.
- Produce hard copies of your XANALYS Link Explorer chart
or report, setting up the print options as you require.
- Use XANALYS Link Explorer to complete an assigned practical
case study; from data entry, through queries and analysis
to final chart production.
